Thailand sealed victory at the Grand Finale of the SSL at the SEA Games, winning the regatta in dominant style. Controlling the fleet from the first starting signal, they sailed cleanly throughout with lightning-fast speed and flawless crew work, with Her Majesty Queen Suthida playing a key role in holding the team together on board.
Mixed team racing raised the intensity over the four days of competition. “Sailing with big teams from each nation really brings out the best of a country in this format,” said Dylan Whitcraft, trimmer on board SSL Team Thailand. “This is definitely the future of the sport.”
The SSL delivered nation against nation racing on a global stage, with sailors proudly representing their countries in an official SEA Games class, live to audiences across Asia.
“We’d like to thank SSL for providing this platform for people all over the world to get involved in our sport. It’s an amazing opportunity that encourages every nation to step in and sail at this level.” said Team Thailand in a press conference.
